Résumé

Hi, I'm Nick.

I'm a direct-response copywriter and marketing strategist with 7+ years of experience.  Through deep study of marketing principles, human psychology, and creative storytelling, I've helped countless businesses find their voice and grow to new heights.

Here's how I do it:

Research is the HEART of great writing

So that's where it begins.  I'll start by diving deep into your website to learn about what you offer; your products/services, your brand voice, and company history.  Then I'll do the same thing for your competitors to get a complete picture of your market.

From there I befriend your target demographic (if you know it, great.  If not, I can help you hone it in).  I learn everything I can about their needs, desires, hesitations, communication style, etc.  Sales copy doesn't convert unless you connect and resonate with your audience on an emotional level.  This is key.

moving into the project

This is where we have a hearty chat to discuss the project and establish creative direction:

-  What are the key benefits of your product/service?
-  What's the biggest problem you're solving for your customers?
-  What is your ultimate goal for this project?
-  Have you done any brainstorming for the project?  Ideas, visions, thoughts going in?
-  Do you have an idea for a call-to-action?
-  What's your deadline for the project?

now the pen hits the paper

Taking all the research I've compiled, along with your vision from our discussions, I'll get to work.  This is where I weave established marketing principles through all the information gathered from the research phase. After hours of continued brainstorming, writing, and crumpled papers scattered around my desk, I'll send you a completed first draft.

the revision phase

You have the first draft in hand and you give it a nice read.  This is the final sanding/finishing stage - we're smoothing out the rough edges and giving the project a final shine.  In reviewing the first draft, consider asking yourself the following questions:

-  How does the copy feel when you read it?
-  What do you like about it?
-  What do you dislike?
-  Is the copy capturing the essence of your brand in the way you envisioned?
-  Do you absolutely despise it?

We'll reach a beautiful finished product quickly if you're completely honest, so let it rip!  It typically takes no more than 3 revisions for my clients to be completely satisfied.  That said, unlimited revisions are included in every quote and I won't stop until I've created something impactful for your business.
